here is a list that will show you some other uses for many common products that you may not have known.

None of this stuff is proved to me, to actually work so use at your own risk *hehehe* and dinna blame me if'n yer hair falls out or anything 

~ Coffee grounds clean drain pipes. Not recommended for septic tanks though.
~ Beer conditions hair.
~ Cool Whip conditions hair in 15 minutes they say.
~ Pam cooking spray will dry fingernail polish.
~ Mayonnaise will kill lice, and will also condition hair.
~ Elmer's glue - paint it on your face, let it dry, peel it off and see the dead skin and blackheads
~ Shiny hair - use brewed Lipton Tea. Not recommended for blonddes.
~ Sunburn - empty a large can of Nestea into your bathwater. It's the Tanic acid that helps.
~ Minor Burn - apply Colgate or Crest toothpaste
~ Burn your tongue? Put sugar on it.
~ Arthritis? WD-40 spray and rub it in. Kills insect stings as well.
~ Bee Stings - use meat tenderizer
~ Chigger Bite - Preparation H
~ Puffy Eyes - Preparation H
~ Paper cut - Crazy Glue or Chap Stick. (Crazy Glue is used in place of sutures in some hospitals)
~ Stinky feet - Jello
~ Athlete's foot - cornstarch
~ Vicks Vapo Rub cures fungus on toenails and fingernails
~ Use Kool Aid to clean dishwasher pipes. Empty a pack into the detergent section and let it run through a cycle. Kool Aid also cleans toilets.
~ Kool Aid can be used as a dye in paint. As well Kool Aid in plain Yogurt makes Kool finger paint and your kids won't get sick if they eat it.
~ Peanut Butter will get scratches out of CD's. Wipe off with coffee filter paper
~ Peanut Butter will remove ink from the face of dolls
~ Sticking bicycle chains can be freed up using no-stick cooking spray
~ Pam no-stick cooking spray will also remove paint and grease form your hands.
~ If a dolls clothes are hard to put on, sprinkle with corn starch.
~ Heavy dandruff? Pour on some vinegar.
~ Body Paint. Crisco mixed with food coloring. Heat Crisco in a microwave, pour into a container, and mix in your favourite food color.
~ Tie Dyed T-Shirts are easy using food colouring. Fill large container with water and coloring, tie rubber bands around sections and soak for a while.
~ To preserve newspaper clippings, soak in a the contents of a bottle of club soda with a cup of Milk of Magnesia added for 20 minutes. Let dry and they'll last for many years.
~ A slinky will hold CD's.
~ To keep goggles and glasses form fogging coat with colgate toohpaste and then buff clean.
~ Pour Morton Salt over wine stains and watch it get absorbed into the salt.
~ To remove wax, iron a paper towel over the wax stain and it will absorb into the paper towel.
~ To remove label residue from glassware, etc., rub with peanut butter.
~ Baked on food can be removed by filling the container with water and puting a Bounce fabric softener in. The baked on food will adhere to teh Bounce sheet. Let sit overnight. Also, use two Efferdent Tablets. Again, soak overnight.
~ Use Colgate toothpaste to remove crayon on the wall. Brush it to remove it.
~ Dirty grout can be cleaned using Listerine.
~ Stains on Clothes - Colgate again.
~Coka Cola removes grease stains on your driveway,soak overnight. Also removes corrosion from batteries
~ Use 20 Mule Train Borax to remove fleas form your carpet. Sprinkle on and let stand 20 minutes, then vacuum.
~ To keep flowers fresh, add a like Clorox or two Bayer aspirin or just use 7-Up instead of water.

To break a fever, place raw onions in socks next to the bottoms of your feet.  Leave in place overnight.


Back door trots?  No problem if you have a box of red jello on hand, any flavor will do so long as it's red.  Mix half the box into 8 oz. hot water and drink.

Baking Soda.....one of the best cleaning agents around.  Clean your bathtub edges and tile grout with it.  Works amazing!

Dried oranges and grapefruit peels and rind make good fuel in a fireplace and give off a lovely aroma as they burn.


Prevent car doors from freezing by wiping the rubber gaskets with vegatable to seal out water.

When hanging pictures on plaster walls,put a small piece of adhesive tape where the nail is to go in.Drive the nail through the tape.This helps prevent the plaster from cracking.


A damp cloth dipped in cigarette ashes will clean the bottom of your electric frying pan.

You can also use baking soda to brush your teeth not the best tasting stuff but it will help whiten them

Also put baking soda down your drain in the sink and pour some vinegar down also will bubble up and leave the drain smelling fresh

Car wax, and or RainX on those hard to keep shiny, glass shower doors.... keeps the water repelled and no streaks or spots on your shower doors.   Also works on the lining/tile of the shower to keep cleaning much easier.

Cucumbers.  they have many uses in fact  but the one I will tell ya about is cockroach control.  Take a wif of cockroach spray sometime as I do beleive it contains cucumber juice. so ... peel a cuke, eat the good stuff and sprinkle the rind around a bit .. or slice up a cuke and use the peices here and there.

To avoid a bruise,rub the area immediately with pure essence of vanilla.There will be no black and blue marks.

To get rid of cockroaches in your home or garage,wash off shelves and the spaces behind the stove and refridgerator.Sprinkle clean areas with baking soda.When the roaches make contact with the baking soad,they dry up.

Salt or red pepper sprinkled on counters and across doors and windowsills is a barrier for ants.

One time at a friends summer cottage when we opened in the spring, we found a lot of dead carpenter ants all over the counter top and on the floor.  Upon inspection we saw they had no legs    Checking things out we found a spilled jar of Cayenne pepper that the ants had walked through so who knows, the Cayenne pepper may have burned their legs off.  Cayenne pepper is HOT!

Baking Soda mixed with a bit of water, make a paste from it, its great for burns, even sun burns. Wash area off with cool water, apply paste..do this twice a day..yes..its messy but works great...in most cases..no scars.

A soak in a bath with 1/2 cup baking soda is good for the skin..adds moistern (do not use soap in this soak)

For women..its better to soak in the baking bath than to douche...just make sue you splash the water in the right places..

8 to 10 mint leafs in a hot bath helps if you have a cold, flu, sinus infection, muscle strain.
Take a cold drink, a book, the radio, a robe, whatever you need in the bathroom with you...shut the door tight. Run only hot water in the tub and put the leafs in. The steam and mint will start working before you get in. When water cools enough for you to get in soak till water starts to cool. Soak as much of yourself in the water as you can. After 15 minutes..get out..dry off..wrap up..stay in the house for at least 8 hours..(best to do this at night)

Avon Skin so Soft stops skeeters and chiggers from biting you...good to spray on screens too

1 cup raw oatmeal poured into the center of cheese cloth, then gathers up and held under running water will produce a type of 'milk'...Instant milk bath...(make sure you squeeze the water out then toss away the cloth)

Ice packs relieve headaches

Dow bathroom cleaner is great to clean inside and outside the fridge..outside of the stove...the floors

Crumbled saltines in a glass..add milk..great for heart burn

Rub your feathers on your duster with a dryer sheet..stop the dust from flying everywhere

For stains on carpet....spray with hairspray (any cheap brand works great) dab it . repeat as necessary until the stain is gone.

Its quite intriguing to watch the stain come off on the cloth everytime you dab it.

Re cayenne pepper: powdered cayenne pepper mixed with vegetable oil makes a swell treatment to paint on electrical cords etc that you don't want your pets to chew on.

Smart splinter remover ... just pour a drop of Elmer's Glue-All over the splinter, let dry, and peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the dried glue.

up very early one  morning and saw that someone had spray painted red
all around the  sides of this white truck for some unknown reason. I
went over, woke  him up, and told him the bad news. He was very upset
and was trying  to figure out what to do. Probably nothing until
Saturday morning,  since nothing was open yet. Another neighbor came
out and told him to  get his WD-40 and clean it off. It removed the
unwanted paint  beautifully and did not harm his paint job that was

Keep a can of WD-40 in yo ur kitchen cabinet over the  stove. It is
good for oven burns or any other type of burn. It  takes the burned feeling away

 and heals with NO  scarring.


 Remember, the basic ingredient is FISH OIL!
